Major Andrew J Olmsted was also a blogger. And, as a blogger he left an 'in case of my death post' - it is well worth the read - a must read.

I read his final post last night, where do we find such fine young men, willing to die for us.

FG,

I read his final post and am at a complete loss for words.

The sadness I feel is nearly overwhelming.

I haven'y posted in quite a while; however, this may find its way on Gawfer.

Thank you.

Yes, Andrew's loss will be felt by many of us across the blogospere.

We are so fortunate that men like Andrew Olmstead and Eddie Jeffers put into words what they saw.

God Bless their families at this difficult time.

..."while you're free to think whatever you like about my life and death, if you think I wasted my life, I'll tell you you're wrong. We're all going to die of something. I died doing a job I loved. When your time comes, I hope you are as fortunate as I was."

Amazing! An interesting, moving and very important read..Thank you...

I read Major Olmstead's final post yesterday or the day before... and I agree: mandatory reading for ALL Americans, bar none.

Thanks for posting the link, Cynthia.
