Military Bloggers Generous and Kind

Recently, the VA Mortgage Center had a friendly competition for Military Bloggers - The Best Military Blog Contest. While this competition was friendly, all of the blogs nominated are worth reading!

Sponsored by VA Mortgage Center.com they gave out $5,500 in cash prizes. What is heartwarming is what some of them did with their winnings....

Soldier’s Perspective [soldiersperspective.us] won $3000 and they donated it to the Camp LeJuene Ballerinas - children of deployed Marines.

Stryker Brigade News [strykernews.com] won $250 and here is their plan: Now, our biggest thanks are reserved for our loyal visitors. We may not be the biggest group, but this contest confirmed my belief that we have the most loyal community out there. Thanks to everyone for your efforts to spread the word. As a result we will still be able to make a substantial contribution to Operation Second Chance

Marine Corps Mom's [marinecorpsmoms.com] won $250 and here is their plan: Thanks to everyone who voted for Marine Corps Moms! We finished 6th and will donate the $250 check to Operation Marine Corps Kids, a Marine Corps Family Foundation project.

Acute Politics [acutepolitics.blogspot.com] won $250 and here is his plan: Acute Politics ended up in 7th place. I will be donating the prize to Project Valour-IT.

AfghanBlog [bouhammer.com] won $250 and here is his plan: I have to go through some steps to have them mail me the check, but I am going to ask my wife to go ahead and send a check for the $250.00 directly to the Fisher House foundation ASAP,as I am sure they can use the money now.

Please note: Teflon Don from Acute Politics is currently in Iraq. Troy from the Afghan Blog is currently in Afghanistan. Yet, they still want to help others.

Once again, I am overwhelmed by these fine people. Thank you all for the inspiration you provide to all of us.
