It is because of men like Lt Michael Murphy and those on his team, Danny Dietz, Matt Axelson, Marcus Luttrell, and those on the rescue helicopter who died - 8 SEALs and 8 Nightstalkers - that we are free to live in the greatest country on the face of the earth.

I watched the ceremony in real-time yesterday. Very moving, to say the VERY least. Thanks for this post, Flag Gazer.

I posted a link to you today on my site. As you know I am on the liberal side of the ledger when it comes to politics. However, I believe everyone needs to honor and respect our soldiers, whether they are liberal or conservative.

I appreciate what you are doing here and your ability to do it with a minimum of polical posturing.

From someone who hoped and prayed every day for his brother to return home from Vietnam, thank you for helping us know and respect our military servicemen.

Hi Flag Gazer: Thanks for the post.

The Wall Street Journal had a great editorial today on Lieutenant Murphy. He was a true hero.
